What about my age?

Are you at least 4 years old? Good! You can do it!
As with any physical activity we recommend talking to your doctor before you start our martial arts program.

How about... how many times a week?

2x a week is recommended. We encourage all students to try to come 3x a week for best results. Setting a schedule and being consistent is very important to your advancement and goal accomplishment.

You may come more often. However your body needs rest. By coming too often you can feel burned out and you can injure yourself.

And what do I wear?

For your free trial workout you can wear clean sports pants and a t-shirt. For women we also recommend wearing a sports top or tank top. Please leave all jewelry at home as these may cause an injury to you or other students.

All students are required to wear either their full uniform or their uniform pants, a Spicar’s Martial Arts karate center T-Shirt, and belt upon enrollment.

What will be expected from me?

We expect our students to give their best effort. Technique at the early stages of training is not as important as a positive attitude. If a student tries hard and has a good attitude, they will develop better technique over time because they are listening and learning.

Do I need prior martial art experience?

No. Beginners are always welcome. Our introductory program makes it easy for new students of all fitness levels to get started. First time students receive one on one instruction designed to answer common questions and provide an introduction to the basics of Taekwondo.
